the restoration

After sitting vacant for 10 years and falling victim to vandalism, the property was rescued by the owners of Quarry View Building Group. The goal was simple: honor the original beauty of the property while giving it a new, productive purpose.

Watch the process unfold to dive deeper into the history and transformation of the property.

The Brick House

The brick farmhouse remained remarkably intact. Its structure had been built with exceptional quality, allowing the original brick, slate roof, flooring, and even the front door to remain in place more than a century later.

Because of this, restoration efforts focused primarily on the interior. The home was thoughtfully adapted to serve as office and meeting space, while preserving its historic character. Original brick walls, wood floors, and architectural details were carefully maintained, blending past and present seamlessly.

The barn

Like the farmhouse, the barn’s primary timber frame remained strong. The massive structural shell, a testament to early 20th-century craftsmanship, required minimal structural alteration.

Restoration focused on preserving the integrity of the frame while making necessary adjustments for its new purpose. New siding was added, but the core structure remains original.

REPLACEMENTS

lobby

Replacing the two original summer houses that once stood between the brick house and the in-laws house, the new Lobby serves as the central artery of Keystone Manor. This thoughtful addition creates a seamless indoor transition from the main house to our primary conference room.

conference room

Originally built in the 1960s as a secondary residence, this wing has been reimagined as a sophisticated conference center. By preserving the estate’s architectural timeline, we have created a space that feels as though it has always been part of the original 1911 farmstead, while serving the professional needs of our design-build firm

NEW ADDITIONS

tOBACCO BARN

A new addition to the estate, the Tobacco Barn serves as our heavy-material workshop and storage facility. Modeled after regional historic structures and archival photography, its traditional silhouette was meticulously designed to feel like an original fixture of the 1911 farmstead from the day it was raised.

The power of vision and determination have to be in abundance to tackle a project like this.
